About Caitlin
Caitlin Shaw is a19-year-old racecar driver from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Shaw has had opportunities to drive in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the USAC National Midget Series, and the NASCAR Whelen All American Series as well as testing for multiple teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. She has been racing cars for 10 years. She started racing quarter midgets when she was nine and at age 14 moved up to race mini sprints where she was the youngest and only female driver. Shaw was very successful in both of those divisions winning multiple championships in the quarter midgets and receiving Most Improved Mini-Sprint Driver at Sandia Motorsports Park. In 2005, she advanced into the USAC Ford Focus Midget Racing Series where she competed against drivers of all ages across the country. The past year in 2008 Shaw competed in the USAC National Series as a K&N Development Driver. Shaw is interested in all aspects of racing including the business and public relations side. She has attended the Women in the Winner's Circle Development program. She is also very active in promoting racing in New Mexico. This year she has talked with a preschool class in Albuquerque about her career and in 2008 she participated in the Cherry Hills Library, "Sports Week" reading to elementary age children. In 2007, she helped to promote and organize a race at Sandia Motorsports Park for all school age children in Albuquerque. She also hosts storytimes around the country in places such as Riley Children's Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Shaw is the first woman from New Mexico to compete in any of NASCAR's top levels, and the second youngest female to compete just a few weeks shy of Chrissy Wallace's record in 2008.

SHAW BECOMES THE USA SPOKESWOMAN FOR WOMEN WITH GIRLRACER
Caitlin Shaw and GirlRacer formed a partnership to help promote women world-wide. Shaw will be the USA representative and spokeswoman for GirlRacer.co.uk. She will have a weekly blog on the site to gain exposure for her efforts in the motorsports industry as well as other women in racing including other drivers, crew members and media.
